The director of TIMEP Europe is Koert Debeuf. He lived for five years in Cairo from where he travelled extensively throughout the Middle East and North Africa. Before 2011 he was the Chief of Staff of ALDE President Guy Verhofstadt. He was also speechwriter, spokesperson and chief advisor of the Prime Minister of Belgium. He is a founding member of the pro-European Spinelli Group and of the Arab Leaders for Freedom and Democracy.
Mr. Debeuf is the author of Inside the Arab Revolution: Three Years on the Front Line of the Arab Spring, in which he analyses the events in Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and Turkey. As an expert he has been interviewed by The New York Times, The Financial Times, Le Figaro, The Independent, La Stampa, FAZ, Politiken, Al Arabiya, Al Jazeera, France 24, and published articles in Foreign Policy, Al Monitor, Politico, Die Zeit, and Deutsche Welle, etc.
